Abstract

This paper shows an acoustic study to understand and propose mitigation measures for noise in the preparation area of a tuna processing and canning company. With the purpose of measuring and assessing the noise exposure at job positions, an analysis of the sonometry and dosimetry of the area under study was accomplished, which allowed to determine if the results obtained were within the established limits by the ecuadorian normative (Executive Order 2393). The research includes a collection of data with appropriate and properly calibrated equipment, used in real and regular working conditions. The results obtained allowed to make recommendations according to the working conditions in the preparation area.
