Optimal warp performance: Incidence of twists factor of yarns used in weave warps
Abstract
The characteristics of textile materials come from both textile fibers and manufacturing production processes. The final characteristics of a textile product satisfy the criteria of the end users, but in turn, the characteristics of the production process must also meet the requirements of the producer in terms of efficiency in the production process and maximization of return on investment. This conjuncture of interests can be satisfied with a strategic and appropriate selection of the materials used, since with it the attributes that the end user is looking for are satisfied, and in turn the return on the investment made by the manufacturer in the product can be improved. elaboration process. The present study seeks in an experimental way to determine the relationship that exists between one of the main characteristics of yarns, such as twisting, and the performance of these yarns when used as a warp. This relationship will be measured in relation to the amount of warp breaks during the weaving process, considering that, the higher the number of breaks, the longer the machinery downtime and therefore, the lower the efficiency of the invested resources, affecting the the interests of investors and stakeholders of the organization.
